TSC to Convert 24,000 Intern Teachers to Permanent Terms From July 2027 - Mbadi

Treasury CS John Mbadi announced that 24,000 newly recruited intern teachers will be converted to permanent and pensionable terms from July 2027. This adds to a previous commitment to convert 20,000 interns in January 2027. The Treasury allocated Ksh4.9 billion for the transition and Ksh8.2 billion for the internship programme in 2026/27. The Teachers Service Commission will receive Ksh424 billion, the largest allocation in the education sector.
