The eThekwini Municipality has announced road closures for the 99th Comrades Marathon on Sunday. 21,600 athletes and an estimated 65,000 spectators are expected for this 'up run' from Durban to Pietermaritzburg. The event is a significant economic driver, creating about 1,300 temporary job opportunities. A waste management plan has been activated along the route.
