Flood destroys houses, farmlands in Kwara communities - Daily Post Nigeria

Flooding has destroyed houses and farmlands in Pututa, Tswako, Likpata, Godangi, and Ekko communities in Lafiagi, Kwara State. Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq visited the affected areas, confirming no lives were lost but properties were damaged. He announced a 10 million naira emergency support package for residents of Pututa to provide food, drinking water, and medicines, and directed the Kwara State Emergency Management Agency to assess the damage. This development follows a federal flood alert issued on September 28, warning of potential flooding across 24 states, including Kwara, due to heavy rainfall and rising river levels.
