Oil firms threaten protest over alleged maltreatment of indigenous contractors

Two Port Harcourt-based firms, ELC Oil and Gas Services and Chiefest Nigeria Limited, have threatened to protest over a debt of over N1 billion for contracts executed in 2024. The firms' directors, Chelsea Enebeli and Jerry Mmanwoke, expressed frustration over the negative impact of this debt on their employees, some of whom have fallen ill. In a letter to Oando Plc, they demand immediate payment of outstanding invoices, threatening to go to their premises with their families if the issue is not resolved.
