Retirement: ANADGI’s campaign finds support from Alassane Ouattara

Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara has decided to end the routine extensions of senior civil servants, public company executives, institutional leaders and officers who have passed the legal retirement age, according to Jeune Afrique. The move aligns with the campaign by the New Alliance of Directorate General of Taxes employees (ANADGI), which is demanding the departure of over-age staff. Led by secretary-general Michael Dougrou, the union also seeks to unblock career advancement for young officials, a system frozen for 23 years. ANADGI launched the third phase of its “KABADOUGOU” campaign on October 15, 2026, after issuing an ultimatum in late 2024.
