Benin: ANIP announces over 32,000 birth certificates issued and reminds about end of free service

Over 32,000 children in Benin have received their birth certificates for free, according to the National Agency for Identification of Persons (ANIP), which reminds that the operation ends on September 30, 2026, at 11:59 PM. Launched on September 16 during the International Identity Day with UNICEF’s support, this 15-day initiative targets children under 14 who have never obtained their birth certificate. After this deadline, the issuance will no longer be free.
