Endometriosis: the disease often mistaken for simple menstrual pain

Endometriosis is a chronic disease characterized by the presence of tissue similar to the uterine lining outside the uterus. According to the WHO, it affects about one in ten women of reproductive age. Main symptoms include intense menstrual pain, pain during intercourse, and difficulty conceiving. Diagnosis is often delayed due to the normalization of menstrual pain.
