37 miners' death: I'm just chief security officer by mouth - Gov Bago

Niger State Governor Umar Bago stated he has limited control over security agencies in the state, despite being designated as the chief security officer. He explained that agencies such as the NSCDC and the police do not report directly to him. Bago also mentioned that the state government intervenes when complaints are brought by civil society organizations regarding unlawful detentions.
