UBA wins 2026 ‘Banker Technology’ award for AI innovation, launches upgraded app

United Bank for Africa (UBA) has won the African category at the 2026 Banker Technology Awards for its innovations in digital payments and cross-border banking using artificial intelligence. Its integration of the Leo chatbot with the PAPSS system enables customers to send funds in local currencies via a conversational interface. UBA also relaunched its RedApp mobile banking platform after a comprehensive upgrade to deliver a faster, more intuitive experience.
