Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games: Interior Ministry Announces Numerous Changes

Hours before the opening of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, Interior and Public Security Minister Mouhamadou Makhtar Cissé inspected the gendarmerie and armed forces headquarters, as well as the National Fire Brigade. He expressed confidence in the coordinated security arrangements and said possible scenarios had been anticipated, while acknowledging that no security plan can eliminate every risk. Dedicated traffic lanes will be arranged for official delegations without fully closing the highway. Cissé asked residents affected by the traffic plan to be understanding about the resulting road disruptions.
