London: Chris Brown Given Eight-Month Suspended Sentence for Violent Assault

Chris Brown was sentenced by London’s Southwark Crown Court to eight months in prison, suspended for twelve months, over an assault at a Mayfair nightclub on February 19, 2023. He struck music producer Abraham “Abe” Diaw twice on the head with a tequila bottle; Brown’s friend and vocal coach, Omololu Akinlolu, also took part in the altercation and received a four-month suspended sentence. Judge Tony Baumgartner stressed the seriousness of the attack but considered Brown’s guilty plea and other favorable elements of his record. Brown avoids immediate imprisonment but could serve the sentence if he commits another offense during the suspension period.
