Uganda: More Ugandans Take Up EACOP Jobs As Project Nears Completion

Ugandans are increasingly taking the majority of jobs on the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project, which is currently 84% complete. EACOP Deputy Managing Director, John Bosco Habumugisha, stated that many roles previously held by expatriates are now being transitioned to trained Ugandans. The project is expected to create 14,000 direct jobs and 45,000 indirect jobs, while also focusing on community development initiatives along the pipeline corridor.
