Ugandan oil companies have dismissed government claims of fuel hoarding and price hikes. The Sustainable Energies and Petroleum Association of Uganda (SEPA Uganda) stated that these allegations are unfounded and that the current situation is a result of disruptions in global oil markets. Energy Minister Ruth Nankabirwa had previously accused the companies of taking advantage of the situation, but SEPA emphasized that fuel supply is centrally coordinated by the Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC).
