Umahi requests autopsy on Mary Habila

The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has requested the Nigeria Police Force to conduct an autopsy on Mary Habila, a staff member who died at his residence in Uburu, Ebonyi State, on June 27, 2026. Habila worked at the David Umahi Federal University of Medical Sciences and was on secondment to the Federal Ministry of Works. Umahi, through his lawyers, urged investigators to establish the actual cause of death and to withhold the release of the body pending the autopsy and investigation.
