UN experts warn about the precarious security situation in South Sudan

South Sudan is facing a catastrophic crisis if fighting between the government and opposition does not stop. A group of 16 UN-mandated experts stated that the country is at a critical turning point and called for constructive dialogue to protect civilians. Since its independence in 2011, South Sudan has been plagued by civil war, extreme poverty, and corruption.
