At the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja, former Aviation Minister Hadi Abubakar Sirika is on trial for allegedly violating due process in awarding consultancy contracts for the Nigeria Air project. EFCC investigator Christopher Odofin testified that Sirika awarded a N299 million contract to Tianaero Nigeria Limited before receiving the Bureau of Public Procurement's approval, and later approved a N599 million contract extension without informing the Bureau. The company, registered barely a year before the awards, received full payment but produced little evidence of tangible outcomes.
