Court rejects Dubai creditor’s bid to block Savannah Cement sale - Business Daily

The Kenyan High Court dismissed a bid by Dubai-based creditor W. General Trading LLC to block the sale of Savannah Cement, backing the actions of administrator Peter Kahi. The creditor claimed it was owed $4.5 million (Sh582.7 million) and accused the administrator of opacity. The court held that insolvency courts should generally not interfere with administration processes unless conducted oppressively. The sale, completed in 2025, saw Savannah Cement acquired by a consortium of Kenyan millers to settle debts exceeding Sh14 billion.
