Patent Medicine Dealer arrested over alleged murder of woman in Calabar

A middle-aged patent medicine dealer named Ofofon has been arrested by security operatives over the alleged murder of a young woman in the Afokang area of Calabar South, Cross River State. Vigilante members caught him attempting to wash away bloodstains around 2 a.m. after reportedly disposing of parts of the victim's remains. Witnesses said the victim had visited the suspect's home with another woman and a young man, who escaped and raised the alarm. Residents had long suspected the suspect due to frequent screams from his apartment at night.
