An Eid celebration on a Gaza rooftop turns into a 'horror movie'

On June 7, 2026, the first day of Eid al-Adha, Widad Al-Husari, 31, gathered with her family on a rooftop in Gaza City to celebrate. An explosion struck the terrace, killing seven people, including women and children, and injuring dozens. Widad fell with her three-year-old son into a hole caused by a missile, hanging from metal rods, before being rescued by her husband and brothers.
