Plateau community urges Tinubu to release compensation for land acquired for Military barracks since 1972

The District Head of Miango, Daniel Chega, appealed to President Bola Tinubu to approve immediate compensation for lands acquired in 1972 for the establishment of Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, home to the 3rd Armoured Division of the Nigerian Army. Chega decried decades of delay and lack of response from the Federal Government, causing economic hardship for affected families. A joint assessment report has been submitted to the Ministry of Defence, but no payment has been made and no timeline communicated. He also called on the National Security Adviser, Service Chiefs, and Minister of Defence Christopher Musa to urgently intervene to facilitate payment.
