UNICEF has warned that low access to Early Childhood Education (ECE) in Northwest Nigeria poses a serious threat to educational outcomes in the region. Dr. Karanveer Singh revealed that only about 24% of children in Jigawa State have access to ECE, while Kano and Katsina have 29% and 32%, respectively. He emphasized that children lacking access to quality early education are more likely to start primary school behind their peers, contributing to the growing out-of-school children crisis in the region.
