Sanef inquiry launched into serious allegations against Sunday Times editor Makhudu Sefara

Sunday Times editor and chairperson of the SA National Editors’ Forum (Sanef), Makhudu Sefara, has been placed on special leave after being linked to a controversy involving the misappropriation of National Lottery funds. Sanef has launched an independent legal inquiry following revelations from the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) implicating Sefara in allegedly improperly benefiting from National Lotteries Commission (NLC) grants. Nathan Geffen, former GroundUp editor, criticized Sanef for not conducting an inquiry earlier regarding these allegations.
