US and Iranian presidents sign deal aiming to end war

US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian signed an initial peace deal at the G7 summit in France, including reopening the Strait of Hormuz, a $300 billion reconstruction plan for Iran, and the termination of all US sanctions. The issue of Iran's nuclear program, the main reason for the conflict, will be negotiated over a renewable 60-day period. Trump warned he would 'bomb the hell' out of Iran if no final deal emerged. The war began on February 28 with the assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader by the US and Israel.
