A US appeals court has temporarily halted the mail delivery of mifepristone, the medication used in the majority of abortions in the United States. This decision was made by a three-judge panel of the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in response to a lawsuit from the state of Louisiana. The ruling requires women to obtain mifepristone in person from health clinics, banning mail delivery. Danco Laboratories, one of the companies distributing the drug, announced plans to appeal this decision to the US Supreme Court.
