US gives green light for Paramount's $111 bn Warner Bros. takeover

The US Justice Department on Friday cleared Paramount Skydance's $111 billion takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery without demanding any changes, capping an eight-month review. The deal, financed by Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison, a Trump ally, is a win for Paramount CEO David Ellison. However, a coalition of about 10 states led by California is preparing an antitrust lawsuit, and the European Commission is also reviewing the merger.
