US says it fired missile at Iran-bound oil tanker

US Central Command said it fired a Hellfire missile at the Botswana-flagged tanker M/T Lexie heading toward Iran's Kharg Island after the crew ignored repeated warnings over 24 hours, releasing video footage of the strike. The US has been enforcing a naval blockade on the Strait of Hormuz since April 13, disabling six commercial vessels and redirecting 122 others. Iran has not publicly commented on the incident.
