Pope Leo heads to Algeria as he starts four-country Africa tour

Pope Leo XIV has begun an ambitious 11-day tour of four African countries, starting in Algeria. He will also visit Cameroon, Angola, and Equatorial Guinea, covering nearly 18,000 km over 18 flights. The trip aims to strengthen ties between the Christian and Muslim worlds, with 25 speeches planned on various topics. This is the first time a pope has visited Algeria, a predominantly Muslim country.
