Seizure of $3.5 million in Ndjili: funds from a microfinance exceeding BCC authorization for transfer to Nord-Kivu

The seizure of $3,532,000 at Ndjili International Airport was clarified by the governor of the Central Bank of Congo, André Wameso. The funds came from an authorized microfinance, but a check revealed an excess of the authorized transfer amount. The funds are currently held in the Bank's vaults, and a judicial investigation is underway to determine responsibilities.
