Ballon d’Or 2026: ‘He’s one of them’ — What Mbappé said after Harry Kane’s win

Harry Kane won the 2026 Ballon d’Or, finishing ahead of runner-up Kylian Mbappé and third-place Lamine Yamal. Mbappé said Kane deserved the award and was “one of” the great players audiences came to see. Despite scoring 25 La Liga goals, 15 in the Champions League and 10 at the 2026 World Cup, Mbappé won no major trophies with Real Madrid, and France did not win the World Cup. He congratulated Kane before the striker took the stage, having arrived at the ceremony after scoring twice in Real Madrid’s 2-1 El Clásico win over Barcelona at Camp Nou.
