Romania blames Russia after drone sinks ship in the Black Sea

Romania blamed Russia for a drone strike that sank the Comoros-flagged cargo ship Khoryv off Constanța, killing one crew member and leaving three missing among its 13 Ukrainian and Azeri sailors. The vessel was travelling from Türkiye to Romania’s port of Sulina and was struck 13 nautical miles off the Romanian coast. Authorities rescued nine crew members and continued searching in poor weather and low visibility. After a surge in attacks on commercial vessels in the Black Sea, Ukraine, Romania and Bulgaria called on NATO to strengthen surveillance and shipping protection.
