Mombasa gets more visitors from Italy than Kisumu

Arrivals in Mombasa via Moi International Airport from Milan and Rome surpassed those from Kisumu and Nairobi’s Wilson Airport, according to Kenya National Bureau of Statistics data. In 2025, arrivals from Milan Malpensa more than doubled, rising from 12,317 to 28,664. Visitors from Rome Fiumicino more than quadrupled, increasing from 1,355 to 5,811, underscoring Italy’s growing importance to Kenyan tourism.

East African Countries Work on a Joint Tourism Visa

Tourism and wildlife ministers from the eight East African Community member states adopted a joint tourism strategy for 2027–2036 to promote the region as a single destination. The plan includes a common tourist visa, digital marketing and cross-border tourism packages under the brand “Visit East Africa: Feel the Vibe.” Meeting in Arusha, ministers also prioritized transboundary conservation, harmonized tourism standards and easier travel, and aim to use AFCON 2027 to attract visitors across the Community. Vodun Days 2027: Benin Tourism Opens Applications for Restaurateurs in Ouidah

Benin Tourism has opened applications to select restaurateurs for stands at the Food Court in Place Maro, Ouidah, during Vodun Days 2027, scheduled for January 2–9.
