NDLEA intercepts Italy-bound businessman with cocaine consignments

NDLEA operatives arrested 38-year-old businessman Philip Tunde at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos with 4.80kg of cocaine hidden in shoes and bags, preparing to fly to Milan, Italy. Tunde claimed he paid N16 million for the drugs, funded by compensation from an injury in Italy. Additionally, the NDLEA seized drugs worth over N5 billion at ports, including 124kg of cannabis and 16,440kg of codeine cough syrup from containers originating from Thailand and India. The operation involved joint inspections with customs and security agencies.
