Paul Rusesabagina: “If Kagame were intelligent, he would withdraw from Congo without being forced out”

In an interview with ACTUALITE.CD from Washington, Paul Rusesabagina discusses his abduction and imprisonment in Rwanda, saying other prisoners died or were killed there. He condemns the lack of human rights and the risks faced by opposition figures, citing the killing in Uganda of Major Roberts, a Rwandan who had fled his country. He also describes the case of FDU leader Victoire Kabere, who was arrested after seeking to campaign in the 2010 presidential election and detained again years later. Rusesabagina criticizes Rwanda’s presence in eastern DR Congo and says Kagame should withdraw before being forced to do so.

They call for an end to special arrangements between the Mines administration and mining companies and propose a multi-stakeholder workshop.
