IG Kanja Announces Crackdown on Matatus After Nicco Movers Saga

Kenya's Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja announced a crackdown on matatus during the commissioning of a police station in Nairobi on June 17, 2026. The announcement also comes after a fatal crash on Enterprise Road on June 3 that killed 5-7 people, and as NTSA reports an 11% increase in road accidents.
