Algeria: Zerrouki returns at the perfect time… but will he find a place?

Ramiz Zerrouki has regained momentum with FC Twente ahead of Algeria’s November squad announcement, having missed Brahim Hemdani’s first camp. He scored a penalty in Twente’s 9-0 win over Excelsior Rotterdam, his second goal of the season, after scoring the only goal against FC Thun in the UEFA Conference League. Twente are fourth in the Eredivisie on 23 points, level with PSV. Despite his improved form, Zerrouki must convince Hemdani and Algerian supporters who have criticized his performances and playing style.
