Veteran coach, Lawrence Akpokona bedridden, seeks medical assistance

Veteran Nigerian coach Lawrence Akpokona is currently bedridden at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital following a serious spinal cord injury. Hospitalized since October 13, 2025, he has undergone three major surgeries and requires urgent medical intervention and financial support. A passionate appeal has been made to the Edo State Government, Delta State Government, the Nigeria Football Federation, and the National Sports Commission to assist Akpokona, who has significantly contributed to Nigerian football.
