The Cameroonian Parliament has adopted bill n° 2094/PJL/P amending the 1996 Constitution, introducing the position of vice-president. The vice-president will be appointed by the president and will complete the term in case of a vacancy in the presidency. This reform ends a precarious situation regarding succession at the top of the state, replacing the interim role previously held by the Senate president.
