Diourbel: He Wants to Slit His 78-Year-Old Mother's Throat for 1000 FCFA, the Film of an Inhumane Scene

On Friday, in the Ngolomite district of Diourbel, a 47-year-old man nicknamed Cheikh Rasta attempted to slit his 78-year-old mother's throat for 1,000 FCFA to buy cannabis. He searched her room, surprised her in her sleep, strangled her, and brandished a knife. A neighbor alerted by the screams intervened, and the attacker fled. The victim, injured and in shock, was hospitalized, and a police investigation is underway.
