Kogi State police arrested eight people suspected of cultism in Itobe on October 17 and three men suspected of ATM card-swapping fraud in Idah on October 20. Officers recovered 59 bank cards, two motorcycles, an axe, a cutlass and a vehicle. Commissioner Naziru Bello Kankarofi said the Itobe suspects had gathered to appoint a group leader, and some allegedly admitted membership of the Aro-Baga Vikings and Aiye confraternities. The Idah suspects are linked to a scheme that allegedly cost a victim 1.5 million naira and had operated for more than a year.
