Wetang’ula Offers to Mediate Teachers’ SHA Dispute as Strike Threats Persist

National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has announced plans to intervene in the dispute between teachers and the government over the Social Health Authority (SHA) medical scheme to avert a crisis in the education sector. The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) has given the government a two-week deadline to address issues related to teachers' deductions. Wetang’ula plans to meet Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale to discuss practical solutions to the growing concerns among teachers regarding access to quality healthcare.
