Wetang’ula Raises Alarm Over Teacher Shortage in Rural Schools, Calls for Urgent Redistribution

National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula raised concerns about the acute shortage of teachers in rural schools during a speech at St. Francis Kolongolo Girls Secondary School in Trans Nzoia County. He noted that despite the government employing over 100,000 teachers, the unequal distribution of staff requires immediate intervention. Wetang'ula called on Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba to ensure fair teacher postings, free from favoritism towards urban positions.
