Uganda has indicated it may withdraw troops from eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), raising concerns among residents and analysts. Uganda's Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, stated the army is ready to pull out from Lubero to Mahagi but demanded the removal of Ituri Province military governor Lt-Gen Johnny Luboya Nkashama. Kinshasa rejected this request, which could expose the area to renewed attacks by Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels.
