Donald Trump called the US men's national soccer team to wish them luck ahead of their opening match of the 2026 World Cup against Paraguay. He told coach Mauricio Pochettino, “I think you have a really good chance to go all the way.” Trump, who will not attend the match in Los Angeles, said he would watch the tournament. The US is co-hosting the expanded 48-team tournament across three countries, 32 years after hosting the 1994 edition.
