The war between Russia and Ukraine, which began in February 2022, has seen an increase in attacks on civilian infrastructure. In 2022, Russian forces conducted 29,792 attacks, with 1,635 hitting civilian infrastructure. By August 2026, this number rose to 7,170, representing over 13% of Russian attacks. Similarly, Ukrainian attacks in Russia have also increased, reaching 3,560, or 27% of all Ukrainian attacks.
