South Kivu: Clashes reported between FARDC and FRN in Fizi and Walungu territories

Clashes took place on Monday, October 26, between the Congolese army (FARDC) and fighters from the Front for the Refoundation of the Nation (FRN) in several areas of Fizi and Walungu territories in South Kivu. Governor Jean-Jacques Purusi denounced what he called a “media war” and urged residents to remain calm, saying Uvira remains protected by the FARDC and its allies.
