Immigration: Bardella wants to reserve the Schengen area for Europeans

Jordan Bardella, during a trip to Spain on October 12, 2026, announced that if his party wins the May elections, France will propose a reform of the Schengen area to restrict free movement to EU nationals only. He wants those with residence permits or regularization to be unable to travel freely across all EU countries. Bardella also criticizes the Frontex agency, calling for it to be able to carry out push-backs to improve border security.
