Court martial over coup plot to resume May 8 - DHQ

The court martial over last year’s foiled coup plot in Nigeria will resume on May 8, according to a spokesman for the Defence Headquarters. Thirty-six officers are on trial for allegedly planning to overthrow the government, which would have ended more than a quarter-century of democracy in the country. The proceedings were inaugurated last Friday in Abuja, and the next sitting will also be behind closed doors, with no media access.
