Xenophobic violence in South Africa: 'They chased us like dogs'

Hundreds of foreign nationals, mainly from Malawi and Mozambique, fled their homes after being chased out by groups of residents in Gansbaai, South Africa. They took refuge in community halls and spent nights in the bush. A Mozambican, Thomas Vincent Baloyi, testifies he was treated 'like a dog' despite having proper documents. The xenophobic protests target immigrants as scapegoats for unemployment and crime.
