Co-op Bank Hosts 41 Co-operatives Forum to Boost Food Security and Economic Growth in South Sudan

The Co-operative Bank of South Sudan hosted a capacity-building forum bringing together 41 cooperative societies in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, aimed at strengthening food security, market access, and economic growth. Held on June 4, 2026, in Aweil Town, the event focused on deepening the impact of the cooperative banking model. Among the participants, 11 cooperatives are beneficiaries of the READ Project, a seven-year IFAD-funded initiative implemented with UNDP and the South Sudanese government. Minister Dominic Kang opened the event, joined by Minister Ayak Zacharia and Co-op Bank Chairman William Wol.
