FRSC identifies persistent safety violations among tanker drivers

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) identified speeding, fatigue, overloading and driving against traffic as persistent violations among petroleum tanker drivers. Spokesman Osondu Ohaeri warned in Abuja that these practices threaten road safety, particularly when drivers travel long distances without adequate rest or rush to meet delivery schedules. The FRSC is intensifying safety education and enforcement and says it has achieved about 75 per cent success in issuing the required Class G licences. Ohaeri urged drivers and operators to prioritise safety, sufficient rest, vehicle maintenance and compliance with speed limits.
